The Dogs Who Changed Us

A serene landscape featuring rolling hills, a clear blue sky, and vibrant green grass.

Every name here represents a dog who changed someone's life.

Some taught us patience.

Some taught us advocacy.

Some taught us how to slow down.

Some helped us survive seasons we never expected to face.

Some are still here.

Some aren't.

Every one of them mattered.

The Dog Who Asked for More exists because of dogs like these.

Dogs who challenged us.

Dogs who confused us.

Dogs who asked more of us than we knew how to give.

And in the process, changed who we became.

This wall honors those dogs while helping build what comes next.

  • A mobile podcast studio.
  • Community meetups and events.
  • Free resources for overwhelmed dog parents.
  • Conversations about behavior, nutrition, grief, burnout, and the realities of life with dogs that nobody talks about enough.

This isn't about status.

It's about saying:

My dog mattered.

And because they mattered, something bigger became possible.

Why This Wall Exists

The Dog Who Asked for More exists because of dogs like Toby, Fitz, Cajun, and the countless dogs who came before them.

Dogs who changed us.

Dogs who challenged us.

Dogs who helped us become who we are.

You came to me in August of 2023, 19 days after I lost Sailor to hemangiosarcoma. I was deep in my grief and you were the scared, scrawny dog that lunged out of fear and hid under the furniture any chance you got. I had no idea what our life would look like or where our journey would take us.

Along the way, you've taught me a lot about life, myself, and you. You taught me to take more photos because one day they'll be all that's left. To stand up for myself and for you. To take the trip, go on the adventure, and say yes because tomorrow isn't promised. To speak up for those who can't speak for themselves. To rest before crumbling. To be patient with you, but also myself. To give myself grace on the difficult days. I learned how to carry grief in one hand and love in the other hand. And most importantly, you taught me how to let another dog into my heart.

You're proof that even after loss, there's room for joy again. Thanks for saving me when I needed you the most.

The Dogs Who Changed Us

To every dog on this wall: thank you for asking for more. To every human: thank you for listening, learning, and choosing to show up anyway.

Cajun, Fiona, Izzie, Brutus, Toby, Fitz

The Dog Who Asked for More is a podcast and educational space for dog parents learning to live differently because of their dog.

Through honest conversations and grounded guidance from a canine nutritionist, dog trainer, and retired vet tech, the show explores dog behavior, reactivity, body language, enrichment, gut health, and canine nutrition — especially when life with dogs feels more complicated than expected.

This space exists to help dogs — and the people who love them — feel more understood, more supported, and less alone.
